THERAPIST BIO

I have lived in the Huntsville area for over 25 years. My practice is rooted in the belief that positive therapeutic relationships have the power to change individuals and the world around us. I work diligently for racial and gender equality in my professional and personal life, and I am an ally for LGBTQ+ individuals. I take an affirmative stance and utilize empowerment strategies throughout treatment.

My style is very collaborative in nature and session content is informed by current research and evidence-based interventions. I hold certification in several Cognitive Behavioral models and also incorporate interventions from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Existential Therapy, Mindfulness, and Solution Focused Therapy. Having worked in the social services field since 2001, some of my practical experience areas include child welfare, child advocacy, hospice, bereavement, adoption, geriatric care, and outpatient therapy/counseling.

I have always found movement and the outdoors to be profoundly healing. I am delighted to bring Walk and Talk Therapy to our community, and I treasure the opportunity to help you on your path!
